Hulk Hogan – Mr. America, Hollywood Hogan, you name the gimmick, the guy has earned a household name in the entertainment industry.
Whether it’s about marrying his daughter look alike Jennifer McDaniel or winning 140 million bounties against Gawker the 2.1-meter hunk has always been the enigma of controversy.
So before the Hulkamaniacs runs wild on your Brother Here are the 5 facts that you thought you knew about the WWE Hall of Famer but probably don’t:
He was sued by Richard Belzer for choking him out
It was one of the notorious events that both WWE and Hogan would probably like to forget. Hogan along with Mr. T was on Lifetime talk show to promote their first ever WrestleMania event.
Richard Belzer the host continuously provoked Hogan with his antagonistic line of questions. He asked Hogan to show his toughest moves. Hogan put Belzer in a front chin lock which made him unconscious and dropping by his head on the floor. To the surprise, Belzer was quick to get on to his feet as nothing had ever happened.
There was a question if it was real or a setup for WWE’s marketing campaign, but the blood dripping from Belzer’s head was evident enough to prove that it was nothing from the hoax.
Richard Belzer however, filed a five-million lawsuit against Hogan followed by another 5 million Lawsuit. The settlement is said to be around 500,000 from the unknown sources.
Randy Savage dissed Hogan on his rap album
Two of greatest names in WWE’s history, The Macho Man Randy Savage, and Hulk Hogan didn’t get along. The mega power of WWC was often found arguing and even fist fighting for real. Savage primarily believed that Hogan had the shovel that controlled the power of WCW at the time.
Savage led smack on Hogan on his rap album Be a Man.
One of the lyrics of his songs quoted:
“Huh Hulk Hogan, Hollywood Hulkster Whatever they call you, I’m coming after you, you coward
Hot diggity damn Hulk I’m glad you set it off (set if off) Used to be hard Hulk now ya done turned soft Doin’ telephone commercials I seen ya Dancin’ in tights as a ballerina
Hollywood Hulkster you’re at the end of your rope
And I’m a kick ya in the butt and wash your mouth out with soap.”
However, the duo reconciled their relationship prior to Savage’s death.
Hogan was in a Band called Ruckus
Before Hogan was ripping his t-shirts off, he had a thing for music. He used to play guitar in junior high school. He dropped out of college just to perform in front of rowdy drunks every night. Ruckus was a local band that played its music mostly in Stone Pony clubs.
Hogan has a burger named after his gimmick
Celebrity and the products after them is no big news. Recently the Kylie lipstick is doing wonder among the teens. So it comes as no surprise that the big guns want to invest in their own products.
This is what Hulk Hogan did when he started his own product called Hulkster cheeseburger. The cheeseburger was a major fail.
WWE deleted all of his videos
Following his racial slur and homophobic comments surrounding the sex tape with Heather Clem, WWE.com has stopped featuring the Hulkster videos. If you go to the WWE’s official site and search for Hogan, you won’t find anything. WWE has always been strict about the racial stigma and wellness policy, they want no part of Hogan’s controversy.
