Thijs is the youngest child of their parents and has two siblings, a brother and sister named Jack and Romy.
His name Thijs might sound little unfamiliar and hard to pronounce but it is a very beautiful name derived from the Dutch word, that is pronounced as Tice and it means ‘gift of god’.
Thijs is a young boy and soon be stepping into the adolescent age. He is good at his studies and loves to play football. He is much loved by his parents and his siblings for being the youngest in the family.
He is very clever and smart and his father is hoping that he could be one of the successful journalists in the future.

Thijs Lauer is the son of Matt Lauer and Annette Roque. Matt Lauer needs no introduction as he is one of the most well-known journalists in America as the co-host of NBC’s nationally syndicated program ‘The Today Show’. His mother Annette is a former Dutch model. His parents got married in 1998 and are living together ever since.
Thijs’s father Matt was initially married to TV producer Nancy Alspaugh but due to some issues, they got divorced in 1988. As the time went by, Matt met with Annette with whom he fell in love and started dating. After some time of each other as a boyfriend and girlfriend, the couple decided to get married.
The couple married in 1998 and is blessed with three children, two sons, and a daughter. The oldest child is Jack Matthew, second is Romy and third is Thijs. The couple loves their children to the moon and back.

Matt and Annette have spent almost 20 years together as a husband and wife. The marital relationship, of course, had faced several issues and misunderstanding despite the wonderful times.
Their marriage was on rocks and on the verge of divorce as well. In 2006, Thijs’s mother Annette Roque filed for divorce against his father Matt. The reason was cited as Matt putting his personal interests above the family obligations making Thijs mother Annette to feel abandoned, isolated and alone in raising the children.
However, the couple reconciled later and has made the bond stronger than before. Matt stated that is has been difficult for him to maintain balance in work and family but he is trying his best to give enough time to his family. The family is living happily in their $36.5 million worth house in New York known as Strongheart Manor.
