After the show, he met the band vocalist Tyler Joseph and befriended with him after a couple of days.
In the same year, Dun left his workplace Guitar Center and joined the band after two band members Chris Salih and Nick Thomas departed due to their busy schedules. He could play a song before the police cancelled the show. After the show, he became an official member of the band.
